You have many cedar soap dishes to choose from. When you receive your MooseMTN Woodworks Soap Saver, however, you will quickly feel the smoother finish, rounded and recessed center, and more refined overall appearance. He uses only domestic North American western and eastern red cedar for these dishes. Sourcing this material can be more difficult, but the payoff is worth it knowing we are supporting local growers and economies. This material is naturally stable and resilient, naturally antimicrobial, and resistant to insects. No dyes or stains are used to produce this product. Instead, he uses my own blend of organic conditioners to provide additional protection during daily use.
These are handmade products so you may see some variability from dish to dish. They measure approximately 2-1/2" x 4".
Care: These dishes need little care. These are wood and will discolor some over their lifetime. A gentle scrub with a course wet dish cloth should be all you need to remove the natural patina they will acquire. If you notice a residue coming off your dish, this is not dye. Some cedar will emit a small bit of residue as it fully cures. You can soak it in warm water and let fully dry a few times to help reduce this if noticed and it will go away naturally over time.
